Shop-top apartment living for Footscray

In 2014 Baumgart Clark Architects was engaged by a private client to design a four level shop-top housing development for Footscray’s Central Business District. The design fronted Leeds Street which contains retail premises, but also wrapped around the rear of the site to address Maddern Square, a previously neglected public space with retail premises backing onto it.

The project achieved planning approval, and was then put on hold due to change in client circumstances.
